I include a cookies pop-up for every affordable low cost website that I create. This means that when a visitor lands on your website for the first time they are alerted to the fact that your website uses cookies.
Websites use cookies to collect data from visitors, which has legislation attached to it called The Cookie Law.
The Cookie Law is a piece of privacy legislation that requires websites to get consent from visitors to store and retrieve any information on a computer, smartphone or tablet.
This forms part of the General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) introduced in May 2018. Under this regulation you have a duty to inform visitors that your website collects data about them.
Under GDPR your business should have a Privacy Policy, I understand this may sound daunting, therefore Websites by Jane offer all clients a Privacy Policy template that you can adapt to suit your business. Once adapted I will upload this information onto a dedicated page within your website and add a link in your footer, which means your legal requirements will be met. This service is included in all price plans.
Remember, a cheap website doesn't mean a cheap web design service!
